This group of images depicts speculative tributes to the millions of horses that perished in WW1. Too often, we literally elevate our stature atop these powerful creatures as they suffer in our pursuit of power, riches and amusement. The images are created with photographs of objects: wood foundry patterns, wood scraps, wire fencing and cast composite horse miniatures. This palette of the found is loaded with the specific architecture of their material, making and history. As fictional cityscapes, they attempt to present images that honor the natural power and beauty of our equine co-inhabitants. They postulate an alternative to the glitzy architecture, branded with fashionable names and logos, that currently shapes our modern corporate skylines.
