In the cemetery without adequate funding, grave markers are unprotected casualties mirroring the dissipation of family ties and memory. They are broken by the weight of seasons piling on, or possibly disturbed by vandals. In some cases to facilitate lawn care, or by unsolicited acts of caring, fragments are stacked, propped or arranged. For a while new and unanticipated memorials emerge for the long buried bones.
